Repeal of the Clean Heat Standard
July 1, 2025
Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is ramping up efforts to repeal Act 18, Vermont’s Clean Heat Standard, by launching a statewide mail campaign urging residents to contact their legislators. The campaign warns that the law will lead to increased energy prices and place a financial burden on Vermonters.
AFP’s mailers aim to educate the public on what they describe as the “harsh realities” of Act 18, highlighting concerns about government mandates driving up costs. The organization previously ran a similar digital and mail campaign last summer and has now expanded its outreach with an online action center where Vermonters can contact their representatives directly.
